Mátyás Gombos

Mátyás (Matias) holds a BSc in Environmental Management from Corvinus University in Hungary, and an MSc in Sustainability Science from Aalborg University in Denmark. Before becoming a GMAT teacher, he completed the 120-hour TESOL course (teaching English as a foreign language).
Teaching is a well-known profession in the family of Mátyás. His aunt and cousin both taught math and

physics, while his mother has been a private English tutor for the past 30 years. From an early age, he watched and learned, as his mother helped hundreds of students, both on beginner and advanced/professional levels. English has been a daily part of his life for the past 20 years, so much so that he did his MSc in English, and as a result, he is familiar with the high language requirements of advanced university courses.
Mátyás moved to Ecuador in 2020, to continue his relationship with his girlfriend, to whom he got engaged in 2021. It was after the move that he started to think about teaching as a profession to pursue, to follow in the footsteps of his mother. He found GMATDudes by accident and passed the requirements without any previous preparation. He found great joy in backing up his knowledge of English with the strict structure and rules of the GMAT, and now he finds even more joy in passing down everything he knows to his students.
In his free time, Mátyás is a movies & TV-shows geek, plays the guitar, loves to play board games, and enjoys a glass of quality whiskey every now and then.
